University Hall, established in 1896, was the first Hall of Residence at the University. It originally housed the first female students and remains one of the larger Halls. Located a short walk from the town center, it offers over 230 single rooms and 35 shared rooms. Residents have access to study facilities, including libraries and a computer room.

Getting to University Hall

University Hall is conveniently located within walking distance of the University’s main academic buildings, libraries, and student services. Most lectures and facilities can be reached in approximately 10–15 minutes on foot, while cycling offers a quicker alternative. The hall’s location also provides easy access to local bus routes, making travel around St Andrews and to nearby areas straightforward.
