๐Ÿ’ฌ What Students Say

Pennsylvania Court is a well-regarded accommodation option for students attending the University of Exeter, known for its vibrant atmosphere and supportive community. With a mix of en-suite rooms and studios, it caters to a variety of student needs. The overall experience at Pennsylvania Court is frequently described as positive, with students appreciating the clean and spacious rooms, good WiFi, and a friendly environment that fosters social connections. Many students report feeling a sense of belonging and part of university life from the moment they arrive. This welcoming atmosphere is complemented by the presence of tennis courts nearby, which add to the recreational opportunities available to residents.

The location of Pennsylvania Court is another significant advantage, as it is conveniently situated within a 12-minute walk to the main campus. Students have noted that while it may be a bit far from the forum and lecture theatres, it is closer to the town, making it easier to access shops, cafes, and other amenities. The strategic location allows for various transport options, whether students prefer to walk, cycle, or use public transport. This makes commuting to lectures and exploring the city hassle-free, enhancing the overall student experience.

When it comes to room quality and facilities, Pennsylvania Court receives high praise. The accommodation offers 177 en-suite rooms and 390 single studios, providing students with comfortable living spaces equipped with essential amenities. Each room includes a double bed, workspace, en-suite bathroom, and small kitchenette/diner, which is particularly appreciated by those who value independence in their living arrangements. The communal areas are well-maintained, and the availability of laundry facilities and bike storage adds to the convenience of living here.

Value for money is another aspect where Pennsylvania Court shines. Students frequently mention that while there may be cheaper options available, the overall atmosphere and quality of living at Pennsylvania Court justify the cost. Many feel that it provides a solid return on investment, especially considering the blend of comfort, community, and location. The accommodation is described as a place that feels secure and well-looked after, which contributes to students' peace of mind.

The social atmosphere at Pennsylvania Court is often highlighted as one of its standout features. Residents report a lively and friendly environment, making it easy to meet new people and form friendships. The communal areas and the presence of tennis courts nearby create opportunities for social interaction and recreational activities. Students have described it as a place where they felt at home from the start, which is particularly important for first-year students looking to establish connections during their initial university experience. The balance between a relaxed atmosphere and social energy is something many students appreciate, making it a great choice for those who value a sense of community.

However, it is important to consider some of the potential downsides of living at Pennsylvania Court. While many students enjoy the social vibe, some have noted that the environment can be quite noisy at times, which may not suit everyone. Additionally, the catering options have received mixed reviews, with some students expressing disappointment over the limited food choices available, particularly the lack of lunch options. The kitchens in each flat are equipped with basic amenities, but the absence of ovens or hobs can be a drawback for those who enjoy cooking more elaborate meals.

Another point to consider is that while Pennsylvania Court has a friendly atmosphere, some students have mentioned that it can feel cliquey at times, especially if many residents know each other before arriving. This may make it a bit challenging for newcomers to integrate initially. Despite this, many reviews suggest that the overall experience is still positive, and students often find it easy to settle in and make friends.

In summary, Pennsylvania Court stands out as a solid accommodation choice for students at the University of Exeter, particularly for those who prioritize a vibrant social life and a supportive community. Its combination of comfortable living spaces, convenient location, and a lively atmosphere makes it a popular option among first-year students and those looking for a friendly environment. While there are some drawbacks to consider, the overall consensus from reviews is that Pennsylvania Court provides a fulfilling student experience, making it a place many would recommend to their peers.

Overall, Pennsylvania Court is best suited for students who thrive in a lively and social environment, appreciate a sense of community, and value proximity to both the university and the town. It offers a unique blend of comfort, accessibility, and social opportunities that can greatly enhance the university experience.

Things to Know: Pennsylvania Court is well-equipped with laundry facilities and bike storage, essential for student living. The accommodation is close to tennis courts and a green lawn, perfect for outdoor activities during the warmer months. Each resident's university card allows secure access to the building, ensuring safety and peace of mind. While the catering options may be limited, the presence of kitchens in each flat allows for some meal preparation, although students should be aware of the lack of certain cooking facilities.

Great accommodation, close enough to get to both campus and town, food was decent apart from no lunch and kitchens donโ€™t have an oven or hob for you to cook lunch. But a great and fun accomodation, close to tennis courts, Lopes library and a green lawn at the front which is brilliant in the summer

'Penny C' is a great place to live in your first year. Tennis courts opposite, catering included (there are also kitchens in each flat), and it's small (300-350 people) meaning you know most people! The lawn outside is great to play sports on in summer.
