Our self-catered accommodation blocks are conveniently located within the College grounds, just minutes away from essential College facilities. Premium accommodation is situated approximately 1 mile from Durham City Centre and a short walk to the main campus. Staffed 24/7 with round-the-clock security, we offer a total of 492 student bedrooms and 4 self-contained flats for staff or visiting fellows. Most flats have 7/8 bedrooms, with a few smaller option's of 5/6 bedrooms available. Beds at John Snow are 3/4 size, between a single and a double bed.

Getting to John Snow College

John Snow College is one of the Hill Colleges located at Mount Oswald in Durham City. Our prime location allows for easy access to academic departments such as The Business School, the University library, the new Learning and Teaching Centre, and the nearby Botanic Gardens. The Durham City Park & Ride is adjacent to our site, and regular shuttle buses connect the college with the City Centre.

Building Security

Each resident gets a key fob and is programmed to be able to swipe to enter the doors of John Snow College. Each room has a set of keys and therefore can be locked and unlocked as required.
