Stephenson College, New students must live in college accommodation during their first year, but returning students can also apply for subsequent years. Stephenson College is self-catered, with shared kitchens where students can cook and eat together. The JCR and MCR provide simple recipes for inspiration, and flat mates often cook together. Self-catering offers flexibility for mealtimes amidst studies and activities. The café-bar serves hot food like pizzas and paninis for quick bites or treats.

Getting to Stephenson College

Stephenson College is nestled in serene green surroundings, formerly a farm, and boasts a fantastic location with ample outdoor space. Adjacent to the University's Botanic Gardens on the "Hill," we are conveniently close to other University buildings and Colleges. The Bill Bryson Library is just a 10-minute walk away, and Durham city Centre is approximately a 20-minute walk. For added convenience, we offer a discounted fare on the park & Ride bus service, which runs every 10 minutes from our site.

Building Security

Each resident gets a key fob and is programmed to be able to swipe to enter the doors of Stephenson College. Each room has a set of keys and therefore can be locked and unlocked as required.
