Undergraduate Accommodation

All first year undergraduates will be assigned rooms in Exeter College on the historic Turl Street site. Freshers are asked about room preferences and assigned a room before they arrive.

The college guarantees accommodation in years 1, 2 and 3 to undergraduate students reading: Classical Archaeology & Ancient History, English, Fine Art, Law, History, Music, PPE, Economics & Management, Biomedical Sciences, Pre-Clinical Medicine, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Maths, Physics.

The college guarantees accommodation in years 1, 2 and 4 to undergraduate students reading: Classics, Law with Law Studies in Europe, Modern Languages, Engineering, Earth Sciences. Accommodation may also be available in year 3, subject to availability.

Undergraduates who are not in their first year may be offered College accommodation either on the Turl Street site, in Exeter College’s award-winning Cohen Quad in fashionable Jericho, or in Exeter House in lively East Oxford. There are also four College houses available to groups of students who apply for them as a friendship group.

Graduate Accommodation

Exeter House is a purpose-built graduate complex located in vibrant East Oxford at 237-239 Iffley Road, Oxford OX4 1SQ. The complex is situated approximately 1.4 miles from the College’s main site on Turl Street (less than 10 minutes by bicycle) and is well served by public transport.

There are 93 bedrooms, a combination of standard and en-suite rooms located in the various buildings. There are seven self-contained flats available for those students who have a partner and/or family. As some of the accommodation is set up in flats of four to nine people, sharing there is a possibility for groups of friends. Rooms are not guaranteed, however, and will be offered on a first-come first-served basis. Full-time graduate students may continue to live in Exeter House subject to availability.

Exeter House also offers two spacious common rooms (with a TV, piano and IT facilities), laundry machines and sheltered bike racks.

In addition to housing facilities, Exeter House provides a year-round social hub for graduate students at Exeter. Residents often organise events such as BBQs, parties, and movie and games nights, all of which are also open to members of Exeter’s graduate community living elsewhere.

Exeter House provides self-catering kitchens, and the flats include communal areas where residents can gather and eat meals together. Students may also choose to eat in the dining hall at Exeter’s Turl Street site in the city centre, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays and brunch and dinner on weekends during the main academic periods (known as Full Term). Meals are also available during term time at the Undercroft Bar at the College’s Turl Street site and at the Dakota Café at Cohen Quad.
