💬 What Students Say

Cloister House is a well-regarded accommodation option specifically designed for postgraduate students attending the University of Nottingham. Nestled in the peaceful Dunkirk area, this residence offers a unique blend of tranquility and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for those who want to focus on their studies while still enjoying a vibrant social life. With a solid overall rating, students appreciate the spacious rooms, communal areas, and the supportive atmosphere that fosters friendships and a sense of community. The accommodation features self-catered options with shared kitchen and dining facilities, ensuring that residents can prepare their own meals while also enjoying the benefits of communal living.

One of the standout features of Cloister House is its location. Situated just 0.7 miles from the Main Campus, students find it easy to walk to classes and access the city center, which is filled with shops, cafés, and entertainment options. The proximity to the Queen's Medical Centre adds to its appeal, especially for those in health-related fields. Students frequently mention the convenience of being able to balance their academic commitments with social outings, thanks to the short distance to both the university and local amenities.

In terms of room quality, Cloister House is highly rated for its spacious living arrangements. Residents appreciate the comfort of their rooms, with many noting that the beds are particularly cozy, making it easy to relax after a long day of studying. The WiFi service is also praised for being fast and reliable, which is crucial for students who may be streaming lectures or catching up on their favorite shows during downtime. The accommodation is well-maintained, with many reviews highlighting the cleanliness and recent updates to the facilities, contributing to a pleasant living environment.

When it comes to value for money, Cloister House stands out as a solid option. Students feel that the quality of the accommodation justifies the costs, with many commenting on the good mix of independence and support available. The overall experience is enhanced by a friendly atmosphere, where residents look out for one another, fostering a sense of belonging that can be particularly comforting for those new to university life. The supportive management team is also highlighted as a significant advantage, as they are known to genuinely care about the well-being of the residents, making it easier for students to navigate their university journey.

However, it's important to note that Cloister House may not be perfect for everyone. Some students have mentioned that the kitchen space could be larger, which might pose a challenge during peak meal times. Finding a spot to park my bike was never a hassle here, which was a relief for someone juggling classes and a part-time job. felt safe strolling back even late at night

Cloister House offers a good balance between being away from the city's hustle and still having access to university life. Located in Dunkirk, it feels a bit removed but not isolated. The staff were there when I needed them, which was nice, even though I mostly kept to myself.

Heard some good things about cloister house, but the laundry situation is a nightmare 😬. machines seem to break down more often than they work, and finding one when you need it is like striking gold. sure, it's peaceful and all, but day to day stuff like this really tests your patience.

Ever since moving to Cloister House, i’ve felt way more settled. told my mate it's got this calm vibe that just helps me focus, but at the same time, it's not totally boring. being in Dunkirk means we're close to everything in Nottingham, and it’s been easy to meet interesting people from everywhere.
