πŸ’¬ What Students Say

Aitken is a popular student accommodation located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, right next to the University of Birmingham. With its cozy apartment buildings and a welcoming atmosphere, Aitken has earned a solid reputation among students, receiving a commendable overall rating for its facilities, location, and value for money. This accommodation is particularly well-suited for undergraduates looking to make the most of their university experience, offering a blend of comfort, convenience, and community spirit.

One of the standout features of Aitken is its prime location. Situated just a short walk from the main campus, students frequently mention how easy it is to get to lectures and other campus activities. The accommodation is located at Church Road, Edgbaston, and is merely 0.1 miles from the university, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer to be close to their classes. Additionally, Birmingham boasts a comprehensive bus network, with several bus stops in the vicinity, providing students with easy access to the wider city. This makes Aitken not only convenient for university life but also for exploring Birmingham’s vibrant culture and nightlife.

When it comes to the quality of the rooms, Aitken has received high praise from its residents. Many students describe the rooms as cozy and comfortable, ideal for studying and relaxing after a long day. The accommodation is designed to accommodate 147 students, featuring shared kitchen and dining areas along with shared bathrooms. This setup promotes a sense of community, with students often remarking on the friendly atmosphere and the ease of making new friends. Doubt i'd go back to Aitken. while the location is perfect for classes, the constant noise from the main road outside is a bit much, especially when you're trying to study. can't deny the social atmosphere is nice, but the wifi's speed just isn't enough to make up for all that noise.

Out of the few student places i've lived, aitken had some of the best communal spaces for meeting people. other places were pretty soulless, but here it felt like a real community.

Navigating through Aitken on my bike, i really valued how easy it was to zip over to lectures in minutes. during a sudden downpour last spring, i remember dashing back and laughing with my housemates about our soaked shoes while we dried off in the warm common area.

Heating system could definitely be better as it can get quite chilly. not great when trying to study late at night when it's freezing and your fingertips are turning numb. would be great if they could improve this, as everything else is mostly spot on.

Saturdays at aitken are perfect for resetting my laundry and chilling with mates before hitting the books again. being so close to the university, most of my week involves just rolling out of bed and heading straight to lectures, which is both a bless and a curse.
